" How Does That Old Song Go ? "

Remember when you were young, you shone like the sun
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Now there's a look in your eyes like black holes in the sky,
Shine on you crazy diamond.
You were caught in the crossfire of childhood and stardom
Blown on the steel breeze.
Come on you target for faraway laughter,
Come on you stranger, you legend, you martyr and shine.

You reached for the secret too soon, you cried for the moon
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Threatened by shadows at night and exposed in the light,
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Well you wore out your welcome with random precision
Rode on the steel breeze.
Come on you raver, you seer of visions,
Come on you painter, you piper, you prisoner and shine.

Such a proper young English gentleman.

Nah....even then I was planning on shagging Alison Gates behind the bicycle sheds. You can see the grin on my face !

Speaking of which where's this slender, glass "object d'arte" I was promised ?

Hi Karen,

4-1 sweet eh ?

Bet you enjoyed every minute (sincerely hope so).

Now all I need is for Wales to beat England at rugby this evening and I'll probably need medical attention by midnight.

Best Wishes,

M.

OK, you were adorable. Very much so.

Eva,

You say the sweetest things.

Whenever I look at that picture I think "What went wrong ?"

I suppose Syd Barrett used to wonder the same thing.

( It's that line "you wore out your welcome with random precision " - perfect).

Merlin, 4-1 was indeed very sweet, and it was a great day!

I'd been very nervous about the match beforehand, but once the third goal went in, I was in heaven! Ronaldo played amazing again, and even Rooney scored two fab goals, which was such a bonus.

I'd literally remarked that Park couldn't hit a barn door, when his goal went in lol!

The food was good too, even if the service was crap! I tell ya corporate hospitality at Old Trafford is ok, as long as they give you a decent host!

Karen,

Yep - I sort of "watched" the match on-line on the Sky Sports Live Scores Website. Great joy indeed ; I had a mental image of you jumping up and down !

How were the prawn sandwiches ?

And if that wasn't enough to see the English Rugby Team trampled into the hallowed turf of the Millenium Stadium was a "double heaven" for me.

Got to bed at 5:30 this morning : nuff said I think.

Roll on Monday - the torture never stops does it ?

Merlin, the 'prawn sandwiches' were lovely, and yes indeedy, we nearly went through the roof when the goals went in!

My weekend was made all the sweeter when The Toffees beat Arsenal!

As for our rugby team, what a load of crap, as with our football team, we're just not as a good as we think we are.

The Boro tonight, I've got everything crossed!

Hopefully Spurs kicks Chelsea's butt too!

Hopefully......but when you keep blowing 3-1 leads the omens aren't good.

Eva,

What do you mean "were adorable" ?

You make it sound like I'm dead or something !

Do all British men look angelic when they are boys? I don't think I've never seen one that didn't look like a perfect angel.

3/20/2007 3:26 pm

Shmoop,

No - it's just me and I still look angelic (just angelic with a dirty mind).

I can see I'm going to have to dig out lots more photos of me as a little boy if this is the kind of response I get !

M xx

It's not as if being an angel is a bad thing. Or looking like one. If you were truly devious, you'd use it to your advantage.

3/25/2007 8:34 am

Shmoop,

I'm only truly devious with people I don't like.

As the famous British criminal and thug Jack "the hat" McVitie once explained : " I like to beat people to a pulp before they've thought about doing it to me."

It's called getting your retaliation in first.
